Lock Haven, PA- It’s Fair Week in Clinton County. The 47th annual Clinton County Fair is in full swing throughout the weekend. Nothing brings back the feeling of days of old like auto racing at the county fair.
Since the 1930’s racers have visited central PA’s fairgrounds seeking glory by winning the main event. Clinton County Motor Speedway offers two oppourtunities this week.
First on Wednesday July 31, the speedway presents a fair goers special sure to please. The Weaver’s Radiator & Auto Sales/Jay Coder Excavating & Trucking 270 & 600 micro sprints compete for what is hoped will be a $ 500 top prize.
The winners share is based on 25 or more cars entered in each division. Should the car count be lower, the purse will be adjusted accordingly.
General admission, to the speedway, Wednesday is by canned good donation. The canned goods will be presented to the Clinton County Food Bank. Pit admission is $ 25.
Gates open at 5 PM. with racing at 7:30.
A who’s, who of micro sprint competitors are expected.
Action continues Friday August 2 when the 270 & 600 micro sprints are joined by the super late models in a 30 lap, $ 2,000 to win feature. Also on the card are the Millers Automorive Machine pro stocks. Gates open at 5 with racing set for 7:30 PM.
